[2011]Dream High

My year of 2011 started with school life drama's Dream High.. Broadcast by KBS in 2011 production by JYP,Dream High is about Kirin arts High School a prestigious school which trains students how to dance and sing. The director and 4 fellow teachers operate the school and they are strict teachers who never overlook students being neglecting and not practicing. These talented, strict teachers have produced majority of stars and now they are waiting for new students to cultivate. This year, a group of special kids enter into the school. Song Sam-Dong lives in the country side and dreams of becoming an owner of a stock farm. However, after he falls in love with Go Hye-Mi at first sight, he follows her to Kirin Arts High School. There, he discovers his musical talent and strives to become a world-class singer. Jin-Gook is a gifted dancer, but a troublesome kid. He has grown up rebelling against authority but the director sees the potential in him and encourages Jin-Gook to enroll in the school. There, Jin-Gook's talent blossoms and he’s now eager to become a global star. Go Hye-mi is looks like a confident girl but she is hiding pain and sadness behind her proud smile as her family falls into debt. She is loved by both Jin-gook and Sam-dong. Students, with all different charms and personalities, meet at Kirin Arts High School, where they slowly pour their hearts out to each other, and become friends…or for some of them, lovers.. Follow the lives of these students who struggle to become a world star at “Dream High”.

Character Description: 

Miss A's Bae Suzy as Go Hye-mi
Originally from a wealthy family, after her mother's death, her father's business failed and their family fell into debt and her father went to Canada to get help from Hye-mi's aunt. Hye-mi is pursued by debt collector Ma Doo-shik and his men for much of the beginning of the drama.

Kim Soo-hyun as Song Sam-dong
Song Sam-dong lives in the countryside and dreams of becoming the owner of a stock farm. He falls in love at first sight with Go Hye-mi and follows her to Kirin High School of Art. He later struggles with a hearing problem that threatens to derail his dreams.

2PM's Taecyeon as Jin-gook / Hyun Shi-hyuk
Jin-gook is the son of the President. He shares childhood memories with Go Hye-mi and constantly tries to help her. Initially living on the streets as a tough guy, he is naturally talented at dancing and rapping.

T-Ara's Ham Eun Jung as Yoon Baek-hee
Baek-hee used to be Hye-mi's best friend and sidekick at their old school, but she is betrayed by Hye-mi during the Kirin School audition. She is devastated by the betrayal and becomes Hye-mi's biggest rival. She is in love with Jin-gook, who beats up the agency president after he sexually assaulted Baek-hee. Later on in the series she reconciles with Hye-mi.

IU as Kim Pil-sook
Kim Pil-sook first appears as a girl wearing a sushi mascot costume during the auditions. She is a girl with a beautiful voice and perfect pitch but is overweight. She vows to lose weight in 200 days during Group K's activities for her crush, Jason.

2PM's Jang Wooyoung as Jason
Jason is a Korean-American student who excels mainly in dancing but is also good at singing. He is courteous and has good manners, leading to misunderstandings with Pil-sook, who believes that he is nice to her because he likes her.
